Open Joint Stock Company "Hazar Balyk" was established in order to implement the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan, according to which, by September 2015, on the sea coast of the Balkan velayat in the vicinity of the administrative center of the Turkmenbashi etrap, was built and put into operation a production complex for the artificial breeding of sturgeon fish, the extraction of black caviar and the processing of Caspian and other fish species.
The production complex of OJSC "Hazar Balyk" is located on the shore of the Caspian Sea, near the protected area. It includes an aquaculture farm and a fish processing plant.
